It feels like it’s Christmas in the spring.. Just without all the singing, the food and the presents.
Winter and Spring in the Fall
I went to sleep last night around 2AM, which I suppose is pretty typical for me since I don’t get to stay up that late thanks to the real life, but I woke up in the morning to the banging of hail on my window. It was only 10AM, but I put on my glasses and looked outside to see hail falling and waves of water and hail flowing down my street. It was a sight, for sure.

I stayed inbed for while, then got up—freezing in my colder-than-outside house. But all of a sudden, the rain went away, and the sun came out. I felt an urge to go out and take pictures and so the results are here. It was beautiful outside! Cool, crisp, and sunny—my perfect weather. Around the neighborhood, some people took advantage of the break of storm to walk their dog and catch some fresh air.
After a while, the roads dried up and I decide I should take advantage too. I went to Target, got some flour, went home and spent hours baking 6 dozen cookies. Sugar cookies from scratch with an almond icing from scratch as well. Those pictures will come later.

And on top of all that, I did my laundry too. Productive? Yes.
And to end the night, a joint performance from Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block at the American Music Awards? I’m ready for work tomorrow.
So this past first week of school could be well characterized by this photoset. Rain rain and more rain. Little hopes of sunshine and bam! More rain. It sucks. I don’t like rain—especially when I have to walk across campus in my non-rain-proof shoes. Currently, no rain right now, but you know—weather.com says rains a’coming anyways!
I have used this first week—with class only TWTh (with the exception of a 35 minute tennis class on Monday)—wisely. Very wisely. Staying up watching ESPN2 play live broadcasts of the Australian Open. It’s been such a treat! All the matches are so captivating. Even the women’s matches which I usually really don’t like watching. I stayed up until 6am watching Andy pull this one through against Gonzalez. More tennis tonight!
