Some random thoughts
Some things that’ve gone through my head in the last half hour or so: It really needs to rain. The last time I felt really happy to be outside, it was raining. It really needs to rain so I can go to the snow. I really hate BART. I really need to move.  I hate health insurance companies (in particular, Anthem Blue Cross); what do I get for finally picking my (relatively healthy, mind...

So apparently I have the literary taste of a 16 year old. Whatever. I don’t care. Ivy Wei gets the credit for recommending it to me, and whoever brought it to the white elephant at the Christmas party this past month, thank you.  Hunger Games.  Couldn’t put it down. On to the next in the series. Apparently it’s going to be made into a film in March with Jennifer Lawrence....

“Hi Tammy, I hope I got your email address right. I just wanted to say thank you...”

It's a new year!
… and unfortunately, I am not in Yosemite like I was last year!  Last year my new years resolution was “Do More. Go More.” and I’m quite sure I did that. I think that resolution morphed to really mean do more things—that I’ve never done before, and go more place—that I’ve never been before.  Things I did this year that I hadn’t done before: Worked a 9-5...

Once upon a time, politicians said “I believe nicotine is not addictive.” Who stands to lose if we do something about global warming? Who stands to benefit if it’s even a tiny bit true?  “If the question were posed as ‘would these events have occurred if atmospheric carbon dioxide remained at its pre-industrial level of 280ppm?’, an appropriate answer in that...

Because I wake up in the morning and it still looks like it’s 5am. Then, I come up from work on the BART and before I even get to Fremont, the sky shines that golden orange light that signals to everyone that the suns setting. Don’t...
